Opening Night // Carolina Fusilier: Last Sunsets on Earth

Locust Projects

Meet the artist and join Locust Projects in celebrating the opening of Last Sunsets on Earth. We will be pouring fresh beers throughout the night!

Locust Projects is proud to present Last Sunsets on Earth, a site-specific video installation by Argentenian-born, Mexico City-based artist Carolina Fusilier. The film at the centerpiece of the exhibition infuses elements of sci-fi and documentary to create a filmic meditation on Miami as a site of lost histories, diasporic identities and urban alienation, which will be filmed during a month-long residency stay in the winter. Set at the end of the 21st century in a dystopic version of Miami where the sun never sets, the heart of the film will involve interviews with elderly Miamians from the the Latin American diaspora discussing their memories of their homelands.

Locust Projects is proud to present The Language Must Not Sweat, by artist and filmmaker Shikeith. The Language Must Not Sweat, a five-channel video installation titled after an expression Toni Morrison used in a 1981 interview, mines what puddles at the core of the public and subconscious lives of black men.
