Women Who Dare
LocationConcrete Beach Brewery
Concrete Beach Brewery is one of those brewery where you can find women at the tank brewing beer, slaying on the marketing team, pound the pavement on the sales team, and slangin’ brews at the bar. We’re proving that #TheFutureisFemale with a night of women empowerment on March 8th, starting with a networking mixer at 6 PM and a women-cast panel at 7:30 PM. We’ll be releasing our She is Brutiful Brut IPA, brewed in honor of International Women’s Day.
The panel will consist of Melissa Carcache (actress and founder of We Are Millenial Women), Ambar Rodriguez (Investigative Producer for WSVN-TV), Rebecca Lago (Brand Sales Manager for Concrete Beach Brewery) and Grisell Rodriguez (Creator of Women Run Wynwood).
Melissa Carcache is an actress, producer, and business owner. She’s been in the entertainment business for over 15 years, best known for the Nickelodeon hit series Every Witch Way, as a producer the Facebook series Hialeah and Co-Founder of the multimedia company Millennial Women. She’s a proud Cuban American from Miami, FL, currently traveling city by city uncovering the challenges Millennial Women are facing and learning how to overcome them together on her podcast series Millennial Women Talk.
Ambar Rodriguez is an investigative journalist at WSVN. For the past eight years, her focus has been consumer advocate stories as the producer of the popular segment Help Me Howard. In 2016, she was nominated for two Emmys, one in education and another in religion. Her stories have been featured all over the world and has produced several different segments from medical to technology stories. In 1991 her family immigrated from Venezuela to Miami allowing her to do most of her schooling in South Florida. In 2009 she obtained a bachelors in Mass Communication and a CERT in Homeland Security and Terrorism studies from St. Thomas University.
Rebecca Lago is the Brand Sales Manager for Concrete Beach Brewery. She started in the beer business back in 2005 after graduating from the University of Arizona where she majored in Business with a minor in Communications. She was active within the Eller College of Business & a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. She started her career in Arizona as an Account Manager for The Boston Beer Company. A couple years later she moved across the country to Miami, FL when she was promoted to District Manager for BBC. In that role she worked closely with Gold Coast Beverage to grow the Sam Adams brand family. Since then she has worn a few hats in the state of Florida & took on the role with Concrete Beach Brewery in February of 2015. Rebecca & her husband Mark reside in South Miami with their 2 young children so I think its safe to say her life is an integration of beer & babies.
Grisell Rodriguez was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Founder of Women RUN Wynwood (WRW), the largest led 5k RUN club in South Florida. She creates a safe, and dangerous space for women in these monthly 5K runs. Safe because women figure out who they are. Dangerous because women become what they could NEVER imagine. She believes wholeheartedly that community over competition will always lead you further, and is here to empower our Miami women one month at a time!
